Privacy Policy

This policy explains how PixelMonitor handles information across the PixelMonitor website, hosted monitoring service, dashboard, alerts, and Pixel Inspector Chrome extension. “PixelMonitor,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of these services.
Information we handle
Account and contact information
When you create an account or contact us, we may receive your email address, account identifier, organization details, and the content of your messages. Authentication is provided through PropelAuth.
Monitoring configuration and results
When you use the hosted service, we store the website URLs, journey descriptions, imported journey scripts and actions, pixel types, alert destinations, monitoring status, check times, and results needed to run and improve your monitors. A monitored request may contain page URLs, vendor and destination IDs, event names, request fields, visitor identifiers, consent values, product data, transaction IDs, values, currency, or customer data supplied by the monitored website.
Website and device information
When you visit our website or dashboard, we and our service providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages visited, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, and cookie or similar identifiers. We use Google Tag Manager to operate configured analytics and measurement tools.
Alerts, integrations, and payments
If you enable email, Slack, webhook, or another integration, we process the destination and message data needed to deliver the alert. If you purchase a paid service, our payment processor handles payment card details; PixelMonitor may receive billing contact, subscription, and transaction status information.
How we use information
- Provide accounts, dashboards, monitoring, drift detection, reports, exports, and alerts.
- Authenticate users and protect the service from abuse, fraud, and security threats.
- Operate, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve PixelMonitor and Pixel Inspector.
- Respond to support requests and send service, billing, or product communications.
- Comply with law, enforce our agreements, and protect users, PixelMonitor, and others.
We do not sell personal information or use monitoring payloads for advertising. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Pixel Inspector Chrome extension
Pixel Inspector observes activity in the browser tab you inspect so it can connect visitor actions with advertising and analytics requests. This can include the website origin and path, navigation, timestamps, clicked-element labels and roles, selector fallbacks, recognized vendor request URLs, delivery status, event names, destination IDs, and complete request payload fields and values.
Payload values exposed by the inspected site may include visitor identifiers, page URLs, consent values, transaction IDs, purchase values, or customer data. The extension does not intentionally capture values typed into forms, cookies, request headers, screenshots, or unrelated network requests.
Local storage: Inspection data stays in Chrome session storage for the relevant tab. It is removed when you clear the session, close the tab, or end the browser session. Files you export remain on your device until you delete them.
No automatic upload: The extension does not upload inspection data to PixelMonitor. Advertising and analytics requests are created by the website being inspected; Pixel Inspector observes those requests but does not create them. If you export inspection data and provide it to PixelMonitor for support, the information you choose to provide is then handled as described elsewhere in this policy.
PixelMonitor's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Extension data is used only to provide and improve Pixel Inspector's single purpose, except when you explicitly export or share it, when required for security or legal compliance, or as part of a permitted business transfer.
Chrome permissions
- Website access and webRequest: observes recognized advertising and analytics requests from websites you inspect.
- Storage: keeps each tab's inspection session available while the browser session is active.
- Side panel: displays the inspector alongside the website.
- Scripting: starts the action observer in an already-open page when needed.
When we disclose information
We disclose information only as needed to operate the service or in the circumstances below:
- Service providers: companies that provide infrastructure, database hosting, authentication, analytics, communications, alert delivery, support, or payment processing. Current infrastructure includes Neon for database services and PropelAuth for authentication.
- Integrations you choose: services such as Slack, email, or webhook destinations when you instruct us to send an alert or connect an account.
- Legal and safety: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests, or to protect rights, safety, and service integrity.
- Business changes: as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
- With your direction: when you ask us to export, share, or otherwise disclose information.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and website measurement. For example, the dashboard may store a cookie for interface preferences, and authentication and analytics providers may set their own cookies.
You can control cookies through your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent account or dashboard features from working. Where required, we will request consent for optional cookies.
Retention and security
We retain account and hosted-service information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and maintain security. Retention may vary by data type and the settings or plan you use. Extension session data follows the shorter local retention described above.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can clear an extension session from Pixel Inspector, delete exported files from your device, change alert destinations in the service, control browser cookies, and unsubscribe from optional marketing messages.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Email mayur@pixelmonitor.app to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.
Your responsibilities when monitoring a website
You should use PixelMonitor only on websites and data you are authorized to inspect. You are responsible for providing any notices, obtaining any consents, and configuring your website and monitoring journeys in accordance with applicable law. When we process monitoring data on your behalf, you determine which site and journey to monitor.
International use and children
PixelMonitor and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
PixelMonitor is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
